This house was built in 1901 and has seen many changes throughout its existence. The current homeowners were ready for the floor plan to reflect their needs and style. We decided to create a great room that would house a cozy living room with a fireplace, a compact front hall and a kitchen that now has become the hub of the home. To respect the craftsmanship of the century home, the goal was to mix classic elements with today’s modern conveniences.

R-MAC was great - originally found them via Kijiji ad and saw their owner/operator was Fergus from Love it or List it. Our project was grinding a concrete basement floor and pouring self-leveling underlayment so we could lay vinyl plank flooring.After getting quotes from three contractors, we selected R-MAC as the most professional and knowledgeable. Once the job was underway, the crew was efficient, courteous and clean! I was surprised at how little concrete dust remained in the space after the job was done. End result is a true subfloor I'm actually eager to start laying planks on.

Fergus and team were instrumental in working with many different trades, from floor installation, 3 new flights of stairs, kitchen remodel, and redoing the structural work in the basement. They were open and honest and gave us realistic timelines and pricing while trying to organize it all during the pandemic. I strongly recommend them.

We hired R Mac for two renovations: 1. A full renovation of our main floor and bathroom, including refurbishing our enclosed porch, creating a new powder room, renovating the kitchen, removing load bearing walls and renovating an existing bathroom; and a year later 2. A full renovation of our basement, including waterproofing the basement, adding a sump pump, creating a new concrete slab, expanding and renovating the existing bathroom and insulating / installing heat in the basement.We had extremely positive experience with Fergus and his crew with both renovations and have recommended their work to many neighbours and friends since then. With both renovations after we had our permits, we had second thoughts on the designs and R Mac was able to work directly with the Permitting Office to get the changes approved and I cannot tell you how valuable that was to us. We had zero issues with inspection and closing the permits because even the Permitting Office knew R Mac and their work and had confidence in them.During the renovations, they kept a neat job site, worked consistently and effectively and both projects were completed on time and on budget. (On pricing I should not that they were not the cheapest contractor that we interviewed, but we appreciated that they didn't underbid the project and then raise prices afterward as we saw clearly happened with some other contractors.) They cut costs where they could and passed the savings along to us in a very transparent manner. After the renovations many neighbours commented on the quality of R Mac's work which we are also very happy with!I will also add that they were extremely responsive throughout the renovations whenever we had questions or late night emails. Unlike many other projects in our neighbourhood where the contractors would pick up their last cheque and never be heard of again, they were very diligent about following up with us after the renovation to get small things squared away (e.g. installing sconces that took a long time to arrive, revising things that were not quite what we wanted after the fact). We really appreciated it and happily recommend their services to others.

I recommend 100% R-MAC Solutions,For over 6-7 years, I have always counted on the professionalism of Fergus and R-MAC to do absolutely everything at home.Today Ahren came to my house to do some repairs on the floor of my gym and in a bathroom ... and as usual, always, obviously at home we are completely satisfied with his visit.I want to add that for all these years, R-MAC has totally transformed our house, we have renovated all the bathrooms, kitchen, the entrance to the basement was totally transformed, the basement was made from scratch, including a platform, gym, game room, our garage, an entrance behind the kitchen, absolutely everything at home is a true work of art thanks to R-MAC.I want to thank Fergus, Ahren, Andy, Chris, Steve and the entire team for giving us this satisfaction.Thank you R-MAC Solutions!
